As of the census of 2000, there were 2,675 people, 884 households, and 818 families residing in the city. The population density was 995.1/mi². There were 898 housing units at an average density of 334.1/mi². The racial makeup of the city was 94.17% White, 1.35% African American, 0.19% Native American, 3.21% Asian, 0.11% from other races, and 0.97% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.20% of the population.
There were 884 households out of which 42.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 89.8% were married couples living together, 1.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 7.4% were non-families. 6.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 1.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
