Gate District

The Gate District is a neighborhood in St. Louis City. It is bounded on the north by Chouteau Ave, the west by South Grand Ave, the east by South Jefferson Ave, and the south by Lafayette Ave and I-44. As of the 2000 census, the neighborhood had a population of 3,491. The Gate District is the largest "planned" community in the City's history.

The area is actually made up of four smaller neighborhoods, each with it's own neighborhood association, but they are not officially recognized as independent neighborhoods by the city government. The neighborhoods comprising the Gate District are Buder Park, Eads Park, St. Vincent Park, and Lafayette Terrace.

Representation

The Gate District is partially in two aldermanic wards: Ward 6, and Ward 19.
