Google maps and YouTube support

I just found this site, and I love it. So happy we have this now. I started a wiki at my school, and I found a couple extensions that would be awesome on this site. The first easily allows you to put maps on a wiki page using google maps. Check it out here. If you want to see what it can do, check out this map that tracks the locations of local bars in Galesburg, IL (where Knox College is).

The other extension let's you easily embed YouTube videos within articles. Check it out here. These two features could add more ways to put content on this site. Just some thoughts. Tfooq 00:18, June 27, 2007 (CDT)

I want to find a way for my huge family (my Mom was one of twelve) to track family activities. Can I create a page that is that personal? They are all in the St. Louis area, so it's kinda' a St. Louis thing, but only my family would be really interested. If not here, do you know of a place? I want anyone in the family to be able to come in and add activities that might interest the family, thus I don't think Facebook or MySpace would work. My WikiLou login is dlg63021.

Hi! You can certainly do that on WikiLou. The best way to do it would be to make a subpage of your user page. As an example, I have done that to keep track of my photo uploads. You can see that Here. You do that by typing in your user name to the search box and following it with a / then what you want the page to be called, hit enter, and it will tell you that page doesn't exist, and will offer you a link to create the page. So your page could be something like User:Dlg63021/Family. I can definitely help you set this up. Anyone could edit that page, so you could send the link to your whole family and they can all add to it. I think this is a great idea, and I hope more people use WikiLou for things like this. Feel free to ask my any questions. My e-mail is mijunkin@gmail.com Good luck! --Michael Peters 11:09, March 17, 2008 (CDT)
