A stub is an article that has been created, but doesn't have a whole lot of content. On stub pages you'll see a box at the bottom, telling you it is a stub, and suggesting that you expand the article. It looks like this:

This article is a stub. You can help WikiLou by expanding it.

Why have stubs?

Stubs serve two purposes. The first is to help WikiLou editors (a.k.a. you) keep track of which pages need work. When you add the Stub template to a page, it puts that article in Category:Stubs, which is a listing of all the pages that need work.

The second reason for stubs is to inform WikiLou readers (a.k.a. you) that the article is not complete. This both lets them know that more information will probably show up on that page soon, and invites them to expand the page.

How to Label a Stub

Labeling a stub is easy.

  1. Click edit on the top of the page.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the edit box.
  3. Add {{Stub}} at the bottom.
  4. Click save and you're done.
